Clearly Vision

The Clearly Vision app for the Apple Vision Pro is an innovative tool designed to help users check their peripheral vision effortlessly. Although it is not intended to be a medical-grade test and should be considered for entertainment purposes only, it provides a unique and engaging way to raise awareness about vision health.

The app operates in two distinct modes: a shared space window environment and an adjustable immersive environment. By default, it launches in the shared window space mode. However, users have the option to switch to the immersive mode in the main settings tab. It is advisable to sit down while using the app in immersive mode to ensure a more controlled and stable experience. In this mode, the test panel is anchored approximately five feet away from your head position, so it is recommended to position the main window within easy reach before starting the test.

To begin the vision check, you can choose between a short test or an extended test duration. Once the test is initiated, a visual panel appears in front of you. For optimal results, it may be necessary to adjust your position slightly forward or backward until the panel fully encompasses both your front and peripheral vision. The testing process involves focusing on a green viewing area while using your peripheral vision to detect random white dots that appear in any of the four designated panels: Top Left (TL), Top Right (TR), Bottom Left (BL), and Bottom Right (BR). When you spot a white dot, you should click the corresponding button for the panel where the dot appeared.

The appearance of the dots is randomized in terms of timing and location, making it crucial not to look directly at the dots during the test, as this would result in inaccurate outcomes. Upon completion of the test, results are immediately displayed, and users can take a screenshot to keep a record of their performance.

The motivation behind Clearly Vision is to highlight the often-overlooked issue of peripheral vision loss, which can gradually worsen without noticeable signs. Early detection through regular vision checks using the app could potentially alert users to underlying eye or neurological conditions that require professional medical attention. The developers at Blue Vine Solutions, LLC, emphasize that while the app is a helpful tool for raising awareness, it should not replace a comprehensive medical examination by an ophthalmologist.

The Clearly Vision app is free to download, and the developers are open to questions or feedback via their support channel ([email protected]). The app harnesses the advanced capabilities of the Apple Vision Pro to make routine vision checking more accessible, aiming to contribute positively to eye health awareness in a digitally engaging manner.
